Chris Egle

Having studied with shamans and healers in North and Central America, Chris has a very deep connection and appreciation for that which goes unseen in most people’s lives. The natural abundance of the world continuously amazes him. A joyier at heart, Chris seeks to brighten his life as well as any who cross paths with him through listening, insight, humor, and artistic expression.

Vi Schonhardt

Vi has been involved in Metaphysical belief systems for 37 years and has served on 4 different church boards. Most recently, she served at Unity Spiritual Life Center in Durham with Revs. Bil and Cher Holton, and she was also Director of the Integrative Healing Ministry and spoke at some Sunday morning services there.

Vi is an instructor for the United Metaphysical Churches Seminary program, the organization in which she is ordained. She was Pastor of the First Church of Spiritual Science in Muncie, Indiana for 3 years and Minister of Education for the First United Metaphysical Chapel in Bahama, NC. In addition, she taught High School English and Journalism for 18 years and was Guidance Director at a residential home for undisciplined/troubled children for 17 years.

Vi enjoys exploring new ideas and is grateful to be involved with the UCP book study group. Feeling blessed to be a part of UCP, her heart is pulling her to serve on the Board. She looks forward to being on a team of people that share openly with each other and work for the good of our common cause: the growth and the stability of UCP at every level.

Marea Kavanagh

Marea comes to UCP with a wide variety of career and family experiences that center around health, wellness and creating unique and memorable experiences. After receiving her Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Guelph, Ontario in Hotel & Food Management, she spent 10 years opening and operating unique restaurant concepts in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Boston.

While living in the UK, Marea pursued her passion for Homeopathy and received her Bachelor of Science of Homeopathy in 2015 at the Centre for Homeopathic Education at Middlesex University. She now operates her own practice in Chapel Hill, working with individuals and families locally and nationwide via Skype, helping to optimize their well being through Homeopathy.

Marea has been a member of UCP since 2015 along with her husband Brad, son Joshua (16) and daughter Olivia (12). They have enjoyed 3 years of gratifying personal and spiritual growth as part of this community, and Marea has been active on both the Outreach and Wellness Ministries. She is very excited about having the opportunity to contribute to the vibrant growth of our UCP family as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Cheryl Stevens

Cheryl is a passionate seeker of Truth and has spent over 10 years studying New Thought principles and applying them to her life. As a leader in the field of talent development and career strategy for 25 years, she has helped people achieve both personal and professional success. She has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Work experience has included being Vice President/Corporate Officer of Career & Talent Management for Education Management Corporation, Director of Career Management at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and Assistant Director at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. Her current focus is coaching private clients through Stevens Leadership, which she launched in 2011, plus she still coaches leaders of MBA programs.

UCP has given Cheryl the wonderful opportunity to be part of a group of divine beings. She feels honored and excited about being asked to serve on the Board and is ready to commit to this significant responsibility. Cheryl wants to use her skills and experience to contribute at a meaningful level and to help our community to grow.
